Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming at first—especially when you’re trying to figure out what to book and when.
Your venue is usually the first priority, as it locks in your wedding date. Once your date is secured, I recommend booking your bridal hair and makeup as soon as possible—especially for peak wedding season (October to March), when dates fill very quickly with in-demand artists.
That said, it’s always worth reaching out even if your date is coming up sooner than expected. Cancellations do happen, and occasionally dates become available—so you never know unless you ask.

All bookings require a booking retainer to be paid via Pay ID or Bank Transfer. This agreement means that I allocate that date and times we have discussed for you and I will no longer accept any other bookings for that window.
Once the retainer is paid I will confirm the booking with you.

Some makeup artists required a preview, however I don’t and I have done hundreds of brides without seeing them prior to the wedding day.
Having said that it is advised and it is especially important if you have a particular look in mind, allergies or specific requirements that we may need to work out prior to the wedding date.
Many brides book their preview for their hens party or bridal shower or another big event they have so that they can wear the makeup for the day and get a feel for not only the look but also the longevity.

Yes you absolutely can. Once your booking retainer is paid then your booking is secure. If you decide not to do a bridal preview we may exchange a few emails discussing your skin and your makeup requirements. I will ask you to send me a photo of you and we will discuss your touch up lip products and what you might need to purchase to re-touch on your wedding day.

I spend a lot of time reviewing and researching beauty products and I spend a lot of time and money curating my makeup kit.
My kit is ever changing as I discover new products but my most heavily featured brands include Charlotte Tilbury, Hourglass, Natasha Denona, Patrick Ta and Makeup by Mario.
For skincare (very important) I use mostly K Beauty brands such as Dr Althea, Skin 1004, D’Alba and of course Bioderma.

When allocating time for a bride I like to allow 1.5 hrs for her and 1hr for bridesmaids and other attendants. If I am working on a large group of two or more then I also prefer to allocate an additional 30 min window just in case there are interruptions during the process and for touch-ups and any adjustments at the end before I pack up.
My advise is to allow more time than you think. There is nothing worse than feeling rushed and trust me your hair and makeup vendors will appreciate it.
If you are booking me for an event makeup then I will allow 1.5 hrs for the entire appointment which includes set up and pack down.
For hair and makeup bookings I allow 2.5 hrs for a single person or 2 hrs per person for groups up to 3 people.

For me, this will depend on the location. I am regularly booked for Bride Only bookings and I also travel to event clients for single person bookings regularly.
The only time I would require a minimum number of services is if the booking is outside of my radius such as on the Mornington Peninsula. I service this area regularly as a bridal and events makeup artist but to travel there I require a minimum of 3 services (just FYI a service is either hair or makeup). This minimum would also apply to other regional areas that I regularly work in such as the Dandenong Ranges and the Yarra Valley.

Booking fees/retainers for bridal, events and educational bookings are non-refundable, as they secure your date and I often turn away other enquiries once a booking is confirmed.
In the event of a cancellation, payments made are generally non-refundable. However, in some circumstances and where sufficient notice is given, I may offer a partial refund at my discretion if I am able to rebook the date.
For peak periods and high-demand dates (such as weekends and major events), all payments are strictly non-refundable.
If your booking numbers change (for example, reducing the number of people requiring makeup), the original quoted minimum booking amount will still apply. This is because time has been specifically allocated for your booking and other enquiries may have been declined.
I always recommend confirming your final numbers before securing your booking to avoid any changes later on.
I understand that unexpected situations can arise, and I will always do my best to be fair where possible.

Yes, you can book a touch-up service as part of your bridal or event booking. My touch-up service means that I will stay and be available to you through any pre-wedding photos and preparations right up until your first look or the time of your ceremony. If there is a change of location this can be negotiated as part of the price.
I advise all brides wishing to include this service to book as early as possible because I will need to allocate the extra time and decline other bookings for those hours.

Every one of my brides will receive a wedding preparations guide from me once their booking is secured. Skin prep is an essential part of gorgeous looking and long wearing makeup applications so this part is very important. I suggest adopting a gentle exfoliation routine in the lead up and especially the day prior to the wedding, alongside lots of hydrating products such as milky toners and hydrating serums. Facial massage is great for reducing puffiness and aiding lymphatic drainage and I personally love using a Gua Sha daily to help stimulate blood flow and oxygen to the skin. I also advise clients to hydrate from the inside and to avoid getting a lash lift if they are having individual lashes applied as part of their service.

As a busy makeup artist and hair stylist, travel is time and this is why I prefer to work within the Melbourne Bayside and Inner South Eastern suburbs, allowing me to service as many clients as I can. I generally charge my travel according to the location and the time it would take me to get to that location.
As an example, travel from my home to a destination such as Sorrento would incur a travel fee of $150.

This is an important one and is crucial to get right for larger bookings.
The time I will arrive will be calculated according to when I will need to finish everyone. For wedding bookings I like to finish when the photographer arrives. They generally don’t mind if hair and makeup is being finished and touch-ups and adjustments are being done but it is always nice for most of the hair and makeup to be complete when they arrive.
Then I work backwards from this time and calculate my arrival time. Sometimes this can mean starting very early and I understand that in this instance nobody wants to go first. Just remember I always allocate that 30 min window at the end and I make sure I check in with my first client for the day then and ensure everything is still looking perfect.

I am always happy to help with creating your bridal timeline and I generally do not recommend that the bride goes last.
This is because wedding parties can sometimes run behind and my time with the bride is special and I never want her to feel rushed. The last hour of the preparation time can be quite hectic, photographers and videographers are arriving and asking questions and for items to photograph and the bridesmaids are usually getting dressed. This is not the time for the bride to be getting her makeup done.
I always suggest the bride goes second last. The last person on the timeline should also be someone who is not required to assist the bride when she is putting on her dress. Mother of the Bride should always be scheduled in the early part of the timeline because she is always busy and most likely will want to be there to help with the wedding dress when that time comes.
It’s different for every group but that’s a general guide that works for most bridal parties.

I have had many brides purchase their touch up products and take them with them, only to tell me afterwards that they were having so much fun they didn’t even think of it once.
Having said that, weddings are a long day and it is wise to have your bridesmaids carry at least a lipstick or gloss, a lipliner if you regularly use one and a powder for addressing any shine through the day and night (especially if your skin is oily).
These are the basics that most brides take but some of my brides will take a concealer and a blush as well.
The colour you will purchase for your lips will be worked out at the preview but many brides will already have a colour in mind or will purchase something before the wedding day as long as it fits the look we are going to create.
If you opt not to do a bridal preview, we can consult and I can give you some suggestions via email. There are a few widely flattering and often used lipsticks that I use on many brides such as Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk, Chantecaille Lip Chic in Patience or Hyacinth.
